About

Giving Tree Global, Inc. "Bread of Life" is a 501c3 charitable organization, but we really don’t see it that way. Our intention was never to create another organization, but instead to foster a sense of family and community. Bread of Life is the place where the hungry come to be fed and the community comes to serve. Although we feed thousands each week, for us it really is not about the numbers. For us success is to love well--both God and neighbor.

Bread of life operates like a food bank. Through FOOD RESCUE our team works with grocery stores and restaurants. We rescue over 63,000 pounds of edible food weekly that would be discarded as waste and deliver it to local food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters all free of charge.

In addition to our FOOD RESCUE, we also host our own food pantry in Rye. The numbers of people we feed at our onsite pantry in Rye, New York have increased from 400 in 2019 to 1,000 in 2021.

We also host a satellite food pantry in White Plains every Saturday morning. We deliver approximately 4000 pounds of rescue food to this pantry which feeds over 300 of the hungry

"When a poor person dies of hunger, it has not happened because God did not take care of him or her. It has happened because neither you nor I wanted to give that person what he or she needed."-Mother Teresa

Our Mission

The mission of Giving Tree Global is to demonstrate the unconditional love of God to people of all faiths by providing food, clothing, and shelter to those in need. We do this by serving not only individuals, but also by serving other food pantries, shelters, and charities. We believe that faith in Jesus manifests itself in love for our neighbors.
