Volunteers at our Rye Pantry
Volunteers at our Rye Pantry

We'd like to say how grateful we are for you and for all you do, whether you are a volunteer, financial partner, or support us through donated food or prayer. We appreciate you! Your help means more now than ever. As many of you know, due to a cut in federal funding which provided support to many food pantries, a number of pantries are struggling and are approaching us to provide the needed food through our food rescue programs. The food shortages are happening at the same time rising food prices are forcing many families to food pantries or to choose between food and other essentials.

We continue to feed thousands each week through our two local pantries and through our food rescue and delivery operations. A snapshot of some of our behind-the scenes activities are:

  • We deliver a van full of rescued fresh food to Don Bosco to feed Port Chester residents 7 days per week, at least once per day and sometimes twice.

  •  We rescue approximately 63,000 pounds of food each week and deliver free of charge to 15 local food pantries & soup kitchens-food that would’ve gone to waste but is now filling hungry bellies.

  • We take orders for and distribute through our partnership  with the Sharing Shelf  children's clothing alongside meals—because restoring dignity is part of our mission.

  • We partner with local schools and nonprofits, not only to teach children about food insecurity in classrooms but also to model compassion through on-site volunteering.

  • We deliver food to a number of low-income senior centers because no one should have to choose between medication and dinner.

  • We are committed to stopping for the one in need through the offer of love, a listening ear, and prayer at our Rye pantry. The offer is to show our food recipients that they are seen and that their lives matter.

We know times are tough. But especially when the world is troubled, there is a greater need for hope. With your help, we are committed to being that source of hope in our community. Together we can keep our commitment to STOP for the one in need--one van full of food, one hungry person, one meal, hug, and prayer at a time.

Thank you for helping us to bring HOPE to our neighbors well.

P.S. If you’re ever bored on a Monday and feel like lifting a watermelon, come volunteer. We promise laughter, a free workout, and possibly a cookie.
