Rammy, Courtney, Cameron, and Xander have been volunteering with The Bread of Life for more than ten years.

After moving to Rye, they began looking for a way to serve together as a family. They quickly discovered that many organizations don’t allow young children to volunteer. The Bread of Life was one of the few places that welcomed their whole family, so they jumped in and got involved right away.

Over the years, the Harwoods have served in a variety of ways—raising funds, packing dry food bags, serving as announcers at our charity events, and helping distribute food at the pantry.

At the heart of their service is a simple philosophy: give from what you have, not from what you don’t. Much like the story of the loaves and fish, they believe that what we offer, however small it may seem, can be used to make a meaningful difference.

Courtney and Rammy have intentionally raised their children to be aware of the needs around them, encouraging them to ask a simple but powerful question:

How can we use our time and resources to serve others so that everyone is better off?
