Sue Wexler, the Director of Community Outreach for Giving Tree Global visited 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade classrooms at Milton school last week during Community Service week to educate the students about hunger in Westchester County. The students not only learned that 1 out of every 5 people in our community are hungry, they created beautifully decorated snack bags to donate to a 130 very appreciative senior citizens in Port Chester. The Bread of Life values their partnerships with the schools and has been spending time in the classrooms in both Milton and Midland for the past 3 years. It is important that children understand the problem of hunger at a young age and realize they can be part of the solution.
