Last week, Kristina Spinola, our Pantry Supervisor, had the joy of visiting two first-grade classrooms at Osborn Elementary School to share about the work we do at The Bread of Life.
As part of Read Out Loud Day at Osborn, Kristina read Saturday at the Food Pantry, and the students were completely engaged. They listened closely, asked thoughtful questions, and were eager to learn how the pantry began and who we serve.
The children wanted to know who can receive food from the pantry and where they could donate items themselves. Their curiosity and compassion were inspiring. Most importantly, they walked away with a powerful message from the story: “Everyone needs help sometimes.” That simple sentence resonated deeply, and the students truly took it to heart.
We are so grateful to Osborn Elementary for welcoming us and for helping nurture a spirit of kindness and generosity in the next generation.
It was a wonderful privilege to be part of Read Out Loud Day at Osborn.
Thank you for helping us to LOVE our neighbors well. God bless you all!
